Go ductless this winter!

Written by: Metro Air

If you’ve been considering getting a new heating system installed, now is the time! Getting your new system in place so you can stay comfortable during those bitterly cold days of winter is a great idea. A ductless system is a great solution too! Not only will it keep you warm and comfortable during the winter, but it will keep you cool during the summer months as well – and all with just a simple touch of a button! If your home lacks the ductwork for a traditional system, installing a ductless system is an affordable and convenient option. They can be used in a variety of spaces – large newly constructed homes, manufactured homes, remodeled spaces, older homes that previously had electric heat, or even small office spaces.

Here’s how a ductless system works:
Ductless heating and cooling systems use innovative heat pump technology to dispense warm or cool air quietly and efficiently around the area. There is an outdoor unit connected with a small bundle of cables and a refrigerant line, all installed at the ground level of your home. This unit connects to the indoor unit that is mounted in a central location in your home or office space. The system comes with a remote control that is easy to use, allowing you to adjust the temperature and distribute the air as needed.

There are several benefits with a ductless system:
The systems are so quiet, you’ll hardly notice that they’re running!  In addition, you’ll likely see a drop in your utility bill, because they’re incredibly energy efficient and don’t waste additional electricity like wall eaters or electric baseboard heaters do.  The systems also come with air purifiers that help absorb dust, pollen, germs, and mildew, so you may even notice a difference in your allergies year-round. Ductless systems allow you to take control of your comfort – it doesn’t matter if it’s a chilly winter night or a super-hot summer day!
