Maintenance for AC, Furnace, Air to Air Exchanger

Furnaces:

• Change 1" filters once a month

• Change 4" high efficient filters twice a year spring and fall

• Wash Electronic Air Cleaner cells and pre-filters once a month in a laundry tub or bath tub. Just be sure they are completely dry before reinserting them

• Always start up your furnace prior to cold weather to see if you have any start up issues that can be fixed before the furnace is truly needed

• As soon as you think you are having a problem with your unit don't hesitate to give us a call.

Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps:

• Just like your furnace start up the unit prior to warm weather arriving if it about 70 degrees outside to see if there is any start up issues.

• Check your circuit breakers to make sure that they are not tripped

• Check the disconnect outside to make sure no one turned off the power. The disconnect is grey box on the outside of house within close vicinity of the Air Conditioner or Heat Pump with a grey cable connecting the two.

• Clean off the condensing unit once or twice a year depending upon your area. For example if you have a lot of cottonwood trees or new construction going on in your neighborhood. To do this take a garden hose and spray down the outside of the condensing unit from the top down.

• Make sure you turn off the power before you attempt to spray down the condensing unit.

Air to Air Exchangers:

• Clean the foam or metal filters (which kind of filter you have depends upon which model you have) once a month

• Clean the exchange core once a year in your laundry or bath tub

Humidifiers:

• Replace your humidifier pad annually
